Data Detective is a unique team event where pairs of data sleuths follow a captivating storyline featuring the iconic secret agent platypus, Perry. Teams will solve SQL queries at each stage of the adventure, unlocking clues and progressing through the mystery. With 1.5 hours on the clock, can you and your partner crack the case using your SQL skills?

Round 1: Agent Perry's SQL Adventure
Teams embark on a story-driven adventure where they must solve SQL queries to progress through different stages of Agent Perry's mission. Each correct query unlocks the next part of the story and brings you closer to solving the ultimate mystery!
How It Works:
- Teams are presented with a storyline featuring Agent Perry on a secret mission
- At each stage of the story, teams encounter a database challenge
- Solve SQL queries to extract information, uncover clues, and advance the plot
- Queries range from basic SELECT statements to complex JOINs, subqueries, and aggregations
- The faster and more accurately you solve queries, the higher your score
- Complete all stages within 1.5 hours to crack the case!
Story Format:
- Each team receives the same adventure storyline
- Story unfolds in chapters—solve the SQL query to unlock the next chapter
- Clues hidden in query results help teams piece together the mystery
- Final query reveals the solution to Agent Perry's mission

Rules & Guidelines
- Teams must consist of exactly 2 members
- Event is offline—all activities on campus
- Duration: 1.5 hours to complete Agent Perry's adventure
- Laptops/computers will be provided with database access
- Teams work together to write and execute SQL queries
- No external resources, internet, or SQL reference materials allowed
- All queries must be syntactically correct and return accurate results
- Hints may be available but may result in point deductions
- Judges' verification of query correctness is final
- Maintain academic integrity—no copying from other teams
Evaluation Criteria
- Query Accuracy: Correct SQL syntax and accurate results
- Speed: How quickly you solve each stage of the adventure
- Query Efficiency: Well-optimized queries (bonus points)
- Story Progress: Number of story stages completed
