Inspired by the thrilling game show format, Data Feud is a high-energy quiz competition where teams of 3 battle it out in a survey-based quiz followed by an intense buzzer round. Test your knowledge of data science, statistics, and general awareness while competing under pressure. It's Family Feud meets data science—where quick thinking and survey savvy reign supreme!

Rounds: 2 rounds (Qualifier Quiz → Buzzer Round)
Round 1: Qualifier Quiz
All registered teams participate in a written quiz covering survey-based questions, data science concepts, statistics, and general knowledge. This round filters out the top-performing teams who will advance to the buzzer round.
- Written quiz format with multiple-choice and short-answer questions
- Survey-based questions: "Name the most popular data visualization tool," "Top 3 programming languages for data science"
- Topics include: Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Current Affairs, General Knowledge
- Time-bound—complete the quiz within the allocated time
- Top-scoring teams advance to Round 2
Round 2: Buzzer Round (Data Feud Showdown)
The top teams from Round 1 face off in an electrifying buzzer round modeled after Family Feud! Teams compete head-to-head, buzzing in to answer survey-based questions. Speed, accuracy, and data intuition are crucial.
- Teams buzz in to answer questions first—fastest finger wins the chance
- Questions are survey-based: "We asked 100 people: Name a statistical test used for hypothesis testing"
- Correct answers matching the survey results earn points
- If a team gives a wrong answer, the opposing team gets a chance to steal
- Points awarded based on how popular the answer is in the survey data
- Fast-paced rounds with multiple questions
- Team with the highest cumulative score wins the Data Feud championship!
Rules & Guidelines
- Teams must consist of exactly 3 members
- Total event duration: 2.5 hours (Round 1 + Round 2)
- Event is offline—all activities on campus
- No external resources, phones, laptops, or internet allowed during quiz rounds
- In the buzzer round, only the team that buzzes first can answer
- Answers must match the survey data to earn points
- Quiz master's decision on answer correctness is final
- Teams eliminated in Round 1 cannot advance to Round 2
- Maintain fair play and sportsmanship throughout
- Judges' decisions are final and binding
Evaluation Criteria
- Round 1: Quiz score determines advancement to Round 2
- Round 2: Points earned from survey-matching answers in buzzer round
- Speed: Faster buzzer response gives first answering opportunity
- Accuracy: Correct answers matching survey data earn full points
- Tiebreaker: Sudden-death buzzer questions if teams are tied
